Eleftherios Veniadis was born in Athens 1977. He studied Music Theory in national Conservatory and Orpheus Conservatory of Athens. He also studied acting in the “Veaki” School for theatre. He worked from 2001 to 2004 as one of leading actors in “amphitheatre” with the director Spiros A. Evangelatos and also in the Epidauros Festival in the summer of 2002. He moved to Berlin in 2005 to study music composition and he received lessons with the composer Helmut Zapf. He finished the University of Arts Berlin (UdK-Berlin) in 2011 in the class of Prof. Daniel Ott having experimental music theatre as major, achieving excellent in all subjects. He continued in the class of Prof. Manos Tsangaris in the “Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden. He received many scholarships (Union of greek composers, Franz- Grothe , Patera-foundation) and his works were performed in many festivals of contemporary music (Klangwerkstatt Berlin, Randspiele Zepernick, Megaron Athens, Unerhörte Musik Berlin, NeueTöneOpen Stuttgart, Musik und Raum Lübeck). In 2011 received the “Elsa-Neumann” scholarship of the city of Berlin. With the dance-theatre-music company “[Zwischen]” won in Jun 2012 the 1st „BERLINER OPERNPREIS 12: NEW DEAL“ in the international competition of the Neukoellner Opera. He is mainly interested in the interaction of music and theater, a new perspective of an indivisible audiovisual creation.
