Danilo Comitini was born in England in 1986.
He lives and studies in Italy, graduating in piano at the Conservatorio 'G.Rossini' in Pesaro where he later obtained a 2nd level degree in solo piano. At the same time, he studied composition in Pesaro with Lamberto Lugli and later specialized with top grades at the Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan with Alessandro Solbiati. He then studied at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome, in Ivan Fedele's class, where he graduated with honors. Having completed the course of Alta Formazione at the Academy of Rome, he attended the Master of II Level in composition held by teachers Klaus Lang, Marco Stroppa, George Benjamin, Alberto Posadas and Unsuk Chin at the Conservatory of Milan. His music has won important awards and has been honored by some of the most influential personalities on the compositional scene such as Michele Dall'Ongaro, Silvia Colasanti, Beat Furrer, Frédéric Durieux, Bruno Mantovani, Alessandro Solbiati, Daniele Zanettovich, Claudio Ambrosini.
His compositional activity led him to win several international competitions including the '2 agosto' International Competition with the piece 'Resa al labirinto,' performed by the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and broadcast live on television (Rai 5) and radio (Radio 3 Rai), conducted by Asher Fisch, in 2020.
His music, often broadcast by radio channels, is performed in theaters and concert halls in major Italian cities such as Milan, Rome, Florence, Modena, Como, Ravenna, Pesaro and in prestigious settings in foreign countries such as Germany, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Argentina, Ukraine, California, Florida, Chile, and Spain.
His opera 'The spectacles,' commissioned by Orchestra Sinfonica Rossini and based on a novel by E. A. Poe has been represented in 2017 at Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, enjoying significant public acclaim.
Two monographic discs including solo and chamber music have been recorded between 2019 and 2020 for the Stradivarius (Milano Dischi) and Da Vinci Classics labels.
He is a composition teacher at Conservatorio Umberto Giordano, Foggia (Italy).
