Brümmer, Ludger
Ludger Brümmer is Professor for Composition with Digital Media at the Trossingen University of Music, Head of the Music Program of the Hertz Lab at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe and a member of the renowned Berlin Academy of Arts. He has a Master's degree in Education and in Composition. He works in the field of physical sound modeling, algorithmic composition, spatial sound and interdisciplinary art. Many of his works derive sound structures from historical music sources such as works by Gesualdo da Venosa or Maurice Ravel through composed granular structures. In this context, he works with mathematical models such as fractals, cellular automata and Markov chains. He composed the music of the Amazon Opera for the Munich Biennale 2014, where he worked with Peter Weibel and Bernd Lintermann.
