Irene Galindo Quero studied in Granada with Pedro Guajardo, in Freiburg with Cornelius Schwehr and Mathias Spahlinger and with Johannes Schöllhorn in Cologne. Since 2012 she has been learning the sarod with Pandit Brij Narayan. From 2014 to 2016 she taught composition at the Saragossa Music Academy. She has been awarded several scholarships and prizes, such as the Berlin-Rheinsberger Composition Prize and the Composition Prize of the State Capital of Stuttgart. She has received commissions from the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Concertgebouw Brugge, the Witten Days for New Chamber Music and the Philharmonie Luxembourg, among others; her music has been played by the Ensemble Modern, Hand Werk Ensemble, Ensemble Mosaik, Trio Catch, ALEPH Guitar Quartet and Ensemble Kollektiv Berlin. She has developed several scenic projects in collaboration with the poet Ángela Segovia.
