Adam de la Cour (* 1979):
"Sometimes I compose music, perform, and make films.
I usually take an experimental and irreverent approach to my work, it often contains elements of surrealism and the absurd. At various points it has found a floor to crash on at reputable establishments such as Adult Swim and the BBC.
I co-founded the artist cooperative and net-label squib-box with Neil Luck and Federico Reuben, as well as the video production 'studio' Killer Ponzi with Daniel Matz.
MUSIC
I write music that sometimes resembles genres such as experimental, free improvisation, contemporary classical, comedy, metal and other ‘popular’ styles. It's taken the form of concert music, studio recordings, radio plays, film music, and installations. Some of my music and performances have been broadcast on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 3, NTS Radio, Resonance FM, Danmarks Radio, ABC Classic FM (Australia) and Kazakhstan TV. I've also had the honour of writing BBC Radio 3's first ever Christmas panto, "Oh, Bobby!".
As a performer (mainly guitar and vocals) I’ve premiered works by composers such as Neil Luck, Michael Finnissy, Chris Newman, Matthew Shlomowitz, Alwynne Pritchard, Claudia Molitor and Trond Reinholdsten. I’ve performed Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire (vocalist) with Ensemble Reconsil at The Arnold Schoenberg Centre in Vienna; we then toured it in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
‘Bands’ I’ve performed with include ARCO, Schopenhauer, Ensemble +-, Zipperface, The London Sinfonietta, Arn & Hammer, The Two Bennys and Judesque.
FILM
I mainly make short film and video work, most of it borders on the surreal and is darkly comedic. It’s been screened at festivals & art galleries, featured on physical media (Troma), streamed online, and performed in concert settings.
The short In-House is featured in ADULT SWIM SMALLS: VOLUME 5 - Year In Review.

Please check out their stuff."
